ABOUT US
Cayuse Creek Ranch has been recently relocated to the rolling hills of Millbrook, Ontario, about 30 kilometers southwest of Peterborough. It is the home of Bob Coleman and Michelle Bignell. Both of us love our country life and dedicate as much time as possible to the enjoyment of our many animals.
We are proud to be breeders of two very special types of animals – Egyptian Arabian Horses and Huacaya Alpacas.
The bloodlines of our Arabian mares are excellent, including offspring from such stallions as Safeen, Royal Jalliel, Qahthan, and Desperado. Several of these mares are available for mare lease.
Our alpaca herd contains animals of all qualities – from show sires to “fiber boys” and pet quality animals. We have alpacas for both the serious breeder and the hobby farmer, and at fair prices that reflect each animal’s quality.
But we are more than just breeders. We also are “users” of our animals. In the case of our horses, both of us are actively involved in both recreational pleasure riding as well as distance riding competitions. We enjoy the thrill of being astride these majestic, spirited horses. It is our equivalent of driving a high powered sports car – over the fields and through the forests of many beautiful areas of eastern Canada and the U.S.
As for the alpacas, Michelle is an avid fiber processor, spinner and knitter of the fiber. We also sell alpaca fiber in various stages of processing, from the raw fiber to skeins ready for knitting.
As we both wind down our hectic professional careers over the next few years, we look forward to the involvement with and promotion of these two very different types of animals.
